Parameter:
other: The material does not fulfil the criteria for explosiveness. The exothermic events observed in the DSC trace have heats of decomposition of less than 300 J per g.
Remarks on result:
other: The material does not fulfil the criteria for explosiveness. The exothermic events observed in the DSC trace have heats of decomposition of less than 300 J per g.

Notes from the test report: "The sample was observed to undergo an exothermic event from 60.3°C which had a heat of decomposition of -24.7 J.g-1. A second exothermic event was then observed to commence from 138.0°C which had a heat of decomposition of -157.7 J.g-1. No further significant energetic events were noted up to 400°C."

The DSC plot is attached - see "Illustration (picture/graph)"

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The DSC trace for hop extract shows two exothermic events: one at 60.3 oC with a heat of decomposition of -24.7 J per g, and one at 138.0 oC with a heat of decomposition of -157.7 J per g. No further significant energetic events were noted up to 400 oC. The exothermic decomposition is less than 500 J per g (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, Part 2, 2.1.4.3 (c)), so the material is not explosive, and it is less than 300 J per g (Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, Part 2, 2.8.2.1) so it is not self-reactive.
