Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Supporting studies:
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:
Toxicity threshold for Microcistis aeruginosa = 110 μg/L (neutralized) and 120 μg/L (not neutralized)
Toxicity threshold for Scenedesmus quadricauda = 370 μg/L (neutralized) and 740 μg/L (not neutralized)
Early inhibition of cell multiplication for Microcystis aeruginosa = 110 μg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Supporting studies:

Experimental result from a publication. According to the cell multiplication inhibition test. Toxicity threshold is defined as the pollutant concentration resulting in a mean extinction value that is ≥ 3% below the mean of the extinction value for the nontoxic dilutions of the test culture. TT (8h) of ethyleneimine for Scenedesmus quadricauda is 370 μg/L.

Experimental results from different publications. According to the cell multiplication inhibition test. Toxicity threshold of ethyleneimine are the following in the different papers:

For Microcistis aeruginosa: 110 μg/L (neutralized) and 120 μg/L (not neutralized) (static)

For Microcystis aeruginosa: 110 μg/L (neutralized) and 120 μg/L (not neutralized) (8 days, static)

For Scenedesmus quadricauda: 370 μg/L (neutralized) and 740 μg/L (not neutralized) (static)

For Scenedesmus quadricauda: 370 μg/L (neutralized) and 740 μg/L (not neutralized) (8 days, static)

Experimental result from a publication. According to the cell multiplication inhibition test. Early inhibition of cell multiplication is calcultated for ethyleneimine:

For Microcystis aeruginosa: 110 μg/L (8 days, static)
