Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results of the OECD 301C MITI ready biodegradation test indicates that allyl alcohol is readily biodegradable with 86% degradation after 14 days. According to the REACH regulation, it was not necessary to conduct the following tests as allyl alcohol was determined to be readily biodegradable:

- Hydrolysis test

- Biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation test

- Biodegradation in soil

Allyl alcohol is expected to have low potential for bioaccumulation due to low water-octanol partition coefficient (Log Kow = 0.17, Log Koc = 0.6). Based on the physicochemical properties, it is also expected that allyl alcohol will have low potential for adsorption and so an adsorption/desorption screening test was not considered to be necessary.
