Description of key information
A test according OECD 201 with the algal species Desmodesmus subspicatus was conducted to determine the algal growth inhibition effects of Vanadium Concentrate (batch No.14 -45810). Initial cell concentration of 0.5 · 104 cells/mL in each test vessel were exposed in a static test system for 3 days to 1.23, 3.70, 11.1, 33.3 and 100 mg/L test substance.
After 1, 2 and 3 days, the cell growth was determined by fluorescence detection. The EC50values (ErC50, EyC50) were determined by means of a statistical computer evaluation program.
The EC50values for the test item Vanadium Concentrate were determined using nominal values calculated from the saturated and filtrated stock solution with a nominal content of 100 mg/L: 10.70 mg/L for growth rate and 4.64 mg/L for yield.
The LOEC was 11.1 mg/L, the NOEC was 3.70 mg/L.
