Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From 2019-10-24 to 2020-01-10
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Due to the observed instability of the test item in water methods for determination of water solubility described in the guidelines are considered not applicable. Therefore, water solubility of the test item is estimated using visual determination approach.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: visual determination approach
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Batch No.: 190722
Purity: > 99 wt%
Water solubility:
> 25.4 - < 50.3 g/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
22 °C
Remarks on result:
other: pH value was not determined
Details on results:
The final test was performed with the following concentrations of the test item in water: 10, 25, and 50 g/L. The solutions were completely dissolved after 20 minutes. Three hours after dissolving the test item there was small amount of undissolved test item visible in solution with concentration of 50.3 g/L. Two other solutions, 10.4 and 25.4 g/L were still clear and no test item particles were visible.
Conclusions:
Solubility of the test item in water at room temperature (22° C) is at least 25.4 g/L.
Executive summary:

Due to the observed instability of the test item in water methods for determination of water solubility described in the guidelines (OECD 105) are considered not applicable. Therefore, water solubility of the test item is estimated using visual determination approach.
