Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Boiling pt.:
276 °C
Atm. press.:
101.3 kPa

Results

The sample shows an endothermic boiling peak in the 265 – 295 °C region (Table 1).

Table 1: boiling point test

Measurement Onset Peak Atmospheric pressure

°C              °C              hPa

#1  275,7       281,6           100,5

#2  276,3       279,6           102,1

The mean onset is selected as giving the best value of the start of the boiling point. The difference

between the lower onset value and the higher peak value is used to estimate the width of the boiling

range.

Conclusions

The boiling point of N,N-Dimethylnonanamide is 276 ± 5 °C at 101.3 kPa.

Conclusions:
The boiling point of N,N-Dimethylnonanamide is 276 ± 5 °C at 101.3 kPa determined by DSC
