Description of key information

In analogy of the related substance 2-propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, C16 - C20 alkyl ester, the auto ignition temperature of Docosyl methacrylate is approximately 260°C at normal pressure.

Additional information

The auto ignition temperature of the structural analogue 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, C16-20-alkyl ester was determined in a study according to EU method A.15. A temperature of 260°C at normal pressure was reported (Evonik Roh Max Additives UNTER 08-086). In a supporting study, the auto ignition temperature of the same test item was determined to be 240°C at 994 hPa (Evonik Roh Max Additives UNTER 08-087). The auto ignition temperature of the structural analogue Isodecyl methacrylate was determined in a guideline study to be 295°C (Evonik Roh Max Additives UNTER 08-085).
