Results and discussion

Results:
During 2000 to 2004, 45 measurements were carried out in the production and processing plants of BASF AG, Ludwigshafen. The values for production ranged from < 0.005 mg/m3 (< 0.002 ppm) to 120 mg/m3 (40 ppm) with a mean of 3.1 mg/m3 (1.0 ppm). The 90 and 95 % percentiles were at 0.97 mg/m3 (0.33 ppm) and 9.4 mg/m3 (3.1 ppm), respectively. The higher concentrations of up to 120 mg/m3 were observed during barreling, also depending on the season. For the processing plants, measurement values were all below 1 mg/m3.
