The stability of aspartic acid, N,N'-[methylenebis(2-methyl-4,1-cyclohexanediyl)]bis-, 1,1',4,4'-tetraethyl ester towards hydrolysis was determined according to the OECD-guideline 111 (Bayer Industry Services, 2006). Based on kinetic parameters, the following dissipation half-lives for a temperature of 25 °C were extrapolated based on the Arrhenius equation:

pH 4 (25 °C): t1/2: 655 h

pH 7 (25 °C): t1/2: 25.4 h

pH 9 (25 °C): t 1/2: 16.8 h

Bis-aspartic-mono-acid triethylester, bis-aspartic-di-acid diethylester, bis-aspartic-tri-acid monoethylester and bis-aspartic-tetra-acid of aspartic acid, N,N'-[methylenebis(2-methyl-4,1-cyclohexanediyl)]bis-, 1,1',4,4'-tetraethyl ester could be determined as hydrolysis products by means of an HPLC-MS method.
