Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Name:
N'-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]-N,N-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
N'-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]-N,N-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

An evaluation of the inherent properties of the test substance is performed against the ANNEX XIII criteria. If insufficient data were available, the screening criteria as laid down in ECHA Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.11: PBT Assessment (2017) were applied.

The substance is concluded to be readily biodegradable and hydrolytically stable, therefore the screening criteria for persistence are not fulfilled. Based on available evidence it is thus concluded that the substance is not P and not vP.

An assessment of the aquatic bioaccumulation of ionisable substances was carried out and concluded that the substance does not meet the B (or vB) criteria for bioaccumulation. Additionally, a QSAR analysis was carried out resulting in a calculated BCF of 3.16 L/kg which is below the cutoff value of 2000 L/kg based on the REACH Annex XIII criteria. In conclusion, the substance is not considred to be B nor vB.

Finally, based on the Annex XIII criteria for toxicity (T), it can be concluded the substance is not T.

Therefore the test substance should not be considered as a PBT/vPvB substance.
