Additional information

The toxicity of N,N-bis(3 -aminopropyl)methylamine (CAS 105 -83 -9) was studied in a static test according to national standards (DIN 38412, part 15). The test item concentrations were not analytically verified, but are assumed to be stable regarding the low volatility. The 96 -h LC50 was determined to be 147 mg/L. In addition to the not pH-adjusted test solutions, the highest test concentration of 1000 mg/L was tested in parallel after neutralisation. This treatment had no effect on the fish, while all fish were dead after 1 h at 1000 mg/L when the pH was not adjusted (BASF AG, 1987; report no. 87/189).

In conclusion, the test substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic organisms.
