Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the acute toxicity of Glycerol monoisostearate (CAS 66085-00-5) to fish is not available. The assessment was therefore based on a study conducted with the structurally similar Glycerides, C14-18 mono- and di- (CAS 67701-33-1), as part of a read across approach, which is in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5. Further justification is given within the overall summary chapter 6.1 and within the analogue justification section 13.

The acute toxicity of Glycerides, C14-18 mono- and di- (CAS 67701-33-1) was tested in a semi-static test following ISO 7346-1 (Guhl, 1992). The test organisms (Brachydanio rerio) were exposed to a nominal substance concentrations of 3000 and 10000 mg/L for 96 hours. During the test period no mortality or effects of intoxication were observed. Thus a LC50 (96h) > 10,000 mg/L was determined at test termination. Thus, no toxicological effects on fish are expected up to the limit of water solubility for Glycerol monoisostearate (CAS 66085-00-5).
