Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One study investigating the ready biodegradability of Glycerol monoisostearate (CAS 66085-00-5) is available. The study was conducted according to a method equivalent to OECD Guideline 301B, under GLP conditions (King, 1995). Activated sludge was exposed to the test substance for 28 days. The biodegradation rate was determined by measuring the CO2 evolution of the inoculum. After 28 days, the test substance was degraded by 83%. Thus, the substance Glycerol monoisostearate (CAS 66085-00-5) is considered to be readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.
