Additional information

There is one reliable study available regarding the toxic effect of 2-ethyhexylchloride to algae. The study was performed according to OECD 201 under GLP conditions with modifications regarding the volatility of the test item (closed vessel, test medium). The test species was Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. The test concentrations were analytically verified. The 72 -h effect values are as follows based on measured concentrations (geometric mean): ErC10 = 0.424 mg/L, ErC50 > 1.14 mg/L (BASF SE, 2012; report no. 60E0397/11E106).

In conclusion, the substance is acutely toxic to algae.
