Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
14 June 2018 to 26 June 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Remarks:
Study was conducted in accordance with international guidelines and in accordance with GLP
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
Date of Inspection: 18 July 2017 - 20 July 2017 Date on Certfiicate: 28 November 2017
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point

The test item was a light brown powder. Whilst heating the test item, no relevant exothermic reaction/self-heating of the sample has been observed.

On completion of the test, the test item was a black melted solid mass.

Conclusions:
The test item has been determined to not have a relative self-ignition temperature below its melting temperature.
Executive summary:

No relative self-ignition below the melting temperature of the test item, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.16 Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

Description of key information

The test item has been determined to not have a relative self-ignition temperature below its melting temperature.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No relative self-ignition was observed below the melting temperature of the test item, using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.16 Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008. Therefore no value was selected as the key value for chemical safety assessment.
