The test item caused a higher consumption of O2 compared to the control. In the highest concentration of 0.99 g/L the consuption was 13.5% higher. For details please see Table 1 below. Therefore the test item does not inhibit but stimulate the respriation.

In the oxygen-consumption test according to Hüls AG (Dr. Schöberl) the respiration inhibition of the test substance was determined. Four concentrations of 0.99, 9.9, 99 and 990 mg/L were used. After incubation of 4.75 h with Pseudomonas putida Migula the respiration of the organisms was stimulated and not inhibited. Therefor the EC10 and EC50 > 0.99 g/L.
