Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Version / remarks:
2008
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Relative self-ignition temperature:
> 400 °C
Remarks on result:
no self ignition observed under the test conditions

There were exothermic reactions of the test substance noted, the main peak (onset at approximately 200°C) being consistent with the decomposition observed in the melting point test, but there was no self-ignition below 400°C.

(see attached document "Figure - Temperature-Time curve Relative Self-Ignition.pdf").

Description of key information

> 400 °C at standard pressure (EU A16)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Autoflammbility / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa: > 400°C
