The test substance in concentrations of 0.02 to 0.05 % is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well to fungi.

It is assumed that the antimicrobial effect is based on the reaction of the Bromine-nitro group with Sulfohydryl groups.

Compatibility with different emulsifiers, tenside and oil components was observed.
