Based on the physico-chemical properties of Hexamethylene diisocyanate, trimers, reaction products with 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (CAS 162492-01-5), such as low water solubility (< 0.54 mg/L, 20 °C), low potential for volatilization (vapor pressure = 8.1E-08 hPa, 20 °C) and the estimated log Koc (5.61 – 15.09, KOCWIN v2.00, MCI; 2.73 - 2.84 KOCWIN v2.00, log Pow method), the substance is expected to partition mainly to the soil and sediment compartment. Since the substance is not readily biodegradable (0% in 28 d, OECD 301 B) a significant decrease of substance concentrations is not expected to occur via degradation in sewage treatment plants (STP). However, due to potential adsorption to sewage sludge the release via STP effluent might be limited.
