The test substance decomposes before boiling.

The boiling point of the test substance was determined according to OECD Guideline 102 by differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The thermal analysis of the test substance was performed using a TGA/DTA instrument with a temperature program at a rate of 5 °C/min from 50 °C to 500 °C.

On the DTA thermograms obtained from the thermal analysis in nitrogen under reduced pressure (3.13 - 3.33 kPa), no clear endothermic peak with weight loss, which could be assigned to the boiling point, was observed. Two endothermic peaks and two or three exothermic peaks with weight loss, which were assigned to the complex effects of vaporization and decomposition of the test sample, were observed above approximately 250 °C on the DTA thermograms. On the visual observation, colors of the sample container inner walls had changed to the black, suggesting the decomposition of the test substance.

On the DTA thermograms obtained from the thermal analysis in nitrogen under atmospheric pressure, no endothermic peak with weight loss, which could be assigned to the boiling point, was observed. Therefore, it was confirmed that the test substance thermally decomposed before reaching the intrinsic boiling point under both atmospheric and reduced pressure.
