Description of key information

The following tests were conducted on the test material in order to determine its flammability:
EU Method A10 - Flammability (solids)
EU Method A12 - Flammability (contact with water)
EU Method A13 - Pyrophoric Properties: A data waiver has been proposed for this endpoint.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The two studies conducted have been rated as Reliability 2 according to the Klimisch et al scale, and both results indicate that the substance does not meet the criteria for it to be classified as a flammable substance.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance does not meet the criteria for classification in terms of it's burning characteristics as it does not propogate combustion over 200 mm in less than 4 minutes. (EU Method A10).

The material does not evolve highly flammable gases in contact with water (EU Method A12).

From experience of safe handling in use, it is determined that the test substance does not spontaneously ignite when exposed to air at ambient temperature.
