Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The toxicity of 2-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-6-cyano-5-[bis(ethoxycarbonylmethyl)carbamoyloxy]-1 H-pyrrolo[1 ,2-b][1 ,2,4]triazole-7-carboxylic acid-2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl-cyclohexyl ester

(UC-141) to aquatic microorganisms was investigated in a study by Desmares-Koopmans (2004). This test was performed according to OECD 209 under GLP conditions. Activated sludge microorganisms (from predominantly domestic sewage) were exposed to the test substance for 30 minutes at 20 ± 2 ºC under continuous stirring and aeration. After the exposure period, no adverse effects on respiration rate (measured as O2 consumption in the test vessels) were reported, and therefore the 30min-EC50 was determined to be > 100 mg/L (nominal concentration).

The biodegradation test performed with this substance (Desmares-Koopmans, 2003; see IUCLID section 5.2.1) confirmed that indeed UC-141 is not inhibitory to aquatic microorganisms (biodegradation in the toxicity control > 25% after 14 days).

In conclusion, UC-141 is not inhibitory of activated sludge microorganisms activity.
