Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Pure AMP (CAS 124-68-5, 98.4% pure) is readily biodegradable based on OECD 301F at 11.1 mg/L. This conclusion is supported by QSAR estimates by all 7 Biowin models.

4 supportive studies with limitations evidence that the substance is at least inherently biodegradable, and readily biodegradable under specific conditions.

MMAMP (CAS 27646-80-6, secondary amine impurity present in the boundary composition of AMP CAS 124-68-5) is not readily biodegradable. As AMP industrial grades contain potentially up to 7% of MMAMP, this may interfere with biodegradation results. The pure substance AMP should be considered as readily biodegradable in order to allow uses of the pure substance to be properly assessed (e.g. products used in cosmetics have less than 0.5% secondary amine impurities).
