Results
Irritation parameter:
overall irritation score
Basis:
mean
Time point:
other: 15 min
Score:
4
Max. score:
4
Reversibility:
not reversible
Irritant / corrosive response data:
24 hours after the 1-min application, the skin was partly reddened in patches, after the 5-min. application slight necroses occurred in parts. In addition, 24 hours after the applications lasting 15 minutes and 20 hours, the skin was necrotic throughout and corroded down to the muscle. Due to the strong corrosive effects, two animals had to be sacrificed 24 hours and three days after application, respectively.

Table of effects

Time of incubation  Effects after 24 h  additional information
 1 min  R+
5 min  N+
15 min  N+++ (muscle visible) Killing of the animals for human reasons
20 h  N+++ (necrosis includes muscle) Killing of the animals for human reasons
