There are a considerable number of differences between the mechanisms of iron uptake and transport in insects (and by analogy other terrestrial invertebrates) and in general the requirement for iron is less; however, iron homoeostasis in insects, whatever the detailed mechanism appears to be as effective as in vertebrates (Peter Fisk Associates, 2012). Therefore, bioaccumulation of the registration substance and its components by terrestrial invertebrates is considered unlikely.
