Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The objective was the evaluation of the aquatic toxicity of the test substance, by in vitro and in vivo models.

Four studies were performed, according to OECD guidelines and GLP principles: short-term toxicity to fish, short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (Daphnia), toxicity to aquatic algae and toxicity to microorganisms.

OECD 203.

The study was performed on carps, under static conditions, for 96 hours, according to OECD guideline and GLP principle

No effects or mortality was observed up to and including 56 mg/L

The 96h-LC50 of the test substance was estimated to correspond with 90 mg/L.

OECD 202

The study was performed on Daphnia magna according to OECD guideline and GLP principles.

The test was performed under static conditions and the total exposure period was 48 hours.

At the end of the test, no immobility was observed in the control and the two lower test concentrations, while 40% of daphnids were immobile at the highest test concentration.

The 48h-EC50for Daphnia magna exposed to the test substance was beyond the range tested, i.e. exceeded a measured concentration of 52 mg/L

OECD 201

The study was performed according to OECD guideline, with Pseudokirchneriella subcapita

The EC50 for growth rate inhibition (72h-ERC50) was 68 mg/L; the EC50 for yield inhibition (72h-EYC50) was 25 mg/L .

The 72h-NOEC for growth rate inhibition was 13 mg/L based on biological relevance; the 72h-NOEC for yield inhibition was below 7.5

OECD 209

The microorganism respiration inhibition study was performed in an activated sludge according to OECD guideline and GLP principles.

The 3h EC50 was determined to be > 1000 mg/L.
