Expert Statement

The auto-ignition temperature of the test item is determined using a commercially available auto-ignition temperature apparatus (Chilworth Technology, Southampton, UK). The system is applicable to test items with an auto-ignition temperature in the range 75°C ‑ 650°C.

In every ignition test, liquefied test item has to be introduced into a preheated test vessel using a volumetric pipette. The test iten however is too viscous to be pipetted. Therefore, it is technically not possible to determine the auto-ignition temperature.

Conclusions:
It is technically not possible to determine the auto-ignition temperature.

Description of key information

In accordance with Section 2 of REACH Annex XI, testing was omitted because it is technically not possible to conduct the study as a consequence of the properties of the substance. A statement was prepared according to the EC A.15 and DIN 51794 guidelines and according to the principles of GLP.
