Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The acute toxicity of the test material to the freshwater fish rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was assessed according to OECD Test Guideline 203.  The lethal loading rate was assessed at 96-Hour.  The LL50 was 7.3 mg/L loading rate WAF with 95% confidence limits of 6.9 - 7. 7 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate was 1.8 mg/L loading rate WAF.

Additional information

A modification of the standard method for the preparation of aqueous media was performed in view of the difficulties associated with the evaluation of aquatic toxicity of poorly soluble test materials. The organisms were exposed to a Water Accommodated Fraction (WAF) of the test material, which is an approach endorsed by Regulatory Authorities in the EU and elsewhere when the test material is a complex mixture and poorly soluble in water and the auxiliary solvents and surfactants. Exposure is expressed in terms of the original concentration of test material in water at the start of the mixing period (loading rate) irrespective of the actual concentration of test material in the WAF.

The highest loading rate resulting in 0 % mortality was 3.2 mg/L loading rate WAF; the lowest loading rate resulting in 100 % mortality was 10 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate (NOEL) based on zero mortalities and the absence of sub-lethal effects was 1.8 mg/L loading rate WAF.

The LL50 was 7.3 mg/L loading rate WAF with 95% confidence limits of 6.9 - 7. 7 mg/L loading rate WAF.
