Description of key information

Data of the weight of evidance approach reveals an EC50 > 100 mg/L fpr aquatic invertebrates.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP guideline study on toxicity to aquatic invertebrates (OECD 202) was conducted on (R)-Ammoniummandelat solution (ca. 30 %), purity BASF AG 2001 (00/0844/50/1). Data reveal an EC50 above 100 mg/L (nominal) to Daphnia magna. An additional non-GLP screening study (OECD 202) conducted with Benzeneacetic acid, .alpha.-hydroxy-, monoammonium salt, (.alpha.R) on Daphnia magna (BASF SE 2016, 50E0844/00X052) and a maximum concentration in the test of 302 mg/L confirms the result above with EC50>302 mg/L (nominal test concentration) and EC50 > 100 mg dry weight/L (nominal). Thus the result of the weight of evidence approach reveals an EC50>100 mg/L.
