Related composition:
Benzyl benzoate
Reference substance:
Benzyl benzoate
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB

This substance is not considered to be a PBT/vPvB substance based on the information below:

Persistence

The substance has been shown to be readily biodegradable. As such, the substance is likely to rapidly degrade in the environment and therefore is not considered to be persistent.

Bioaccumulation

Benzyl benzoate has a log Kow of 4 and therefore is not likely to have a significant potential for bioaccumulation. Further to this, the BCF for benzyl benzoate was estimated with BCFBAF v3.01 to be 193.4 L/kg (log BCF = 2.286), indicating that the substance will not bioaccumulate in any significant way.

Toxicity

The substance has NOEC values for freshwater >0.01 mg/L and is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic to reproduction. As such, it is not considered to be toxic (T) under REACH Annex XIII.
