- Key result
- Flash point:
- 32 °C
- Atm. press.:
- 101.3 kPa
- Interpretation of results:
- other: Flammable liquid cat. 3 (CLP Regulation EC no. 1272/2008)
- Conclusions:
- The flash point of the test item was determined to be 32.0ºC.
- Executive summary:
In accordance with GLP study and EU A.9 method, the determination of flash point was carried out. The flash point of the test item was determined by Abel closed-cup Method. A preliminary test was performed applying the ignition source at 3 °C temperature intervals. The next tests (two main tests) were performed applying the ignition source at 0.5 °C intervals beginning from the temperature lower about 9 °C than the flash point obtained in the preliminary test. The flash point value obtained in the two tests was 31.5ºC. After correction due to deviation of the thermometer and atmospheric pressure the final flash point of the test item was determined to be 32.0 ± 1.0ºC at 101.3 kPa.

Temperature is corrected to standard atmospheric pressure and temperature deviation by special equation:
T = C + 0.25 (101.3 – p),
C – the ignition temperature, taking into account the deviation = 32.0ºC;
p – ambient barometric pressure = 101.1 kPa.
Measurement uncertainty: 1.0ºC.
T = C + 0.25 (101.3 – p) = 32.0ºC + 0.25(101.3 kPa – 101.1 kPa) = 32.05ºC
The result is rounded to 0.5ºC.
