Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Measured data is available for the acute toxicity in daphnia magna of the most toxic component of this multi-contituent substance. A study with the substance tetraethylene glycol methyl ether (TetraEGME) established that the EC50 was around 22.9g/l. A QSAR seems to under predict the toxicity of this molecule at around 154g/l but predicts that the other major component would have a lower toxicity of 321g/l and that therefore, as with fish and algal toxicity, it decreases with increasing molecular weight. On this basis, it seems reasonable to conclude that the acute toxicity EC50 of the substance will be no more toxic than TetraEGME that selecting the measured EC50 for this substance is a conservative choice for the key parameter.
