Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Based on an assessment of the three main components of this UVCB substance the following conclusions can be drawn:

Persistence Assessment

Substance does not meet screening criteria. Substance is readily biodegradable and is therefore neither P nor vP.

Bioaccumulation Assessment

Substance does not meet screening criteria. Substance logKow<4.5 and is therefore it is neither B nor vB.

Toxicity Assessment

Substance does not meet screening criteria. Acute aquatic toxicity (LC50 and EC50) >0.1mg/l. Substance is neither carcinogenic, mutagenic nor teratogenic. Substance does not show any adverse effects from repeated exposure. Substance is not T.

PBT/vPvB criteria and justification

Substance does not meet the screening criteria for persistency, bioaccumulation nor toxicity so is neither PBT nor vPvB. The minor components are higher molecular weight molecules of the same polyalkylene glycol ether series. They will have similar properties to the lower molecular weight components with regard to persistency, bioaccumulation potential and toxicity and therefore will not affect these conclusions.

Likely routes of exposure:

Not required as substance is neither PBT nor vPvB so exposure characterisation is not required.
