PBT assessment: overall result

Reference
Name:
7328-91-8_master_2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
solid: bulk
Reference substance:
7328-91-8_master_2,2-dimethylpropane-1,3-diamine
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

DMPDA is not readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria), therefore the substance is assessed to be potentially P or vP. The substance is not expected to significantly bioaccumulate in organisms (based on log Kow ≤ 4.5) and is, therefore, not B or vB. Chronic toxicity are not available. However, the substance is assessed to be not T since, the lowest available acute value is >> 0.1 mg/L (aquatic invertebrates: 48-h EC50 = 134 mg/L) and the substance holds no official classification.

In conclusion, DMPDA should not be considered as a PBT/vPvB substance.

Likely routes of exposure:

Because the substance does not fulfill the PBT and vPvB criteria, no emission characterisation is performed.
