Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental data on the long-term toxicity towards aquatic invertebrates are available for 3,4 -dimethoxyphenethylamine (CAS 120-20-7). However, long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates is not an information requirement for this tonnage band (1 -1000 t transported isolated intermediate) under REACH.

However, read-across was performed to the structurally analogous substances 4 -Allylveratrole (CAS 93-15-2). In a reliable reproduction study according to OECD 211 and GLP with Daphnia magna as test species, a 21-d NOEC of 1.1 mg/L based on reproduction was determined (NITE, J-CHECK database, 2003). The test concentrations are analytically verified.

Based on read-across data, chronic effects of the test substance 3,4 -dimethoxyphenethylamine (CAS 120-20-7) for aquatic organisms are not expected.
