Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get medical attention if you feel unwell (show this label to doctor/physician if possible).
If inhaled:
If difficulties occur after vapour/aerosol has been inhaled, remove to fresh air and seek medical attention. If not breathing, give artificial respiration; if by mouth to mouth use rescuer protection (pocket mask, etc). If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel.
On skin contact:
Wash thoroughly with soap and water.
On contact with eyes:
Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.
On ingestion:
Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, seek medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel.
Note to physician:
Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidote. If hemolysis is suspected, monitor hemoglobin, hematocrit, plasma free hemoglobin, and urinalysis. Whole blood or packed RBC transfusion may be required in severe cases. Alkalinization of urine with bicarbonate may prevent renal damage. Maintain adequate ventilation and oxygenation of the patient.
Fire-fighting measures
Water, dry extinguishing media, foam. Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers. Foam. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) are preferred. General purpose synthetic foams (including AFFF) or protein foams may function, but will be less effective. Water fog, applied gently may be used as a blanket for fire extinguishment.

Harmful vapours
Evolution of fumes/fog. The substances/groups of substances mentioned can be released in case of fire.
Special protective equipment:
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information:
The degree of risk is governed by the burning substance and the fire conditions. Contaminated extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with official regulations.
Immediately withdraw all personnel from the area in case of rising sound from venting safety device or discoloration of the container. Do not use direct water stream. May spread fire. Move container from fire area if this is possible without hazard.
Accidental release measures
Use personal protective clothing.
Environmental precautions:
Contain contaminated water/firefighting water. Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater.
Methods for cleaning up or taking up:
For large amounts: Pump off product.
For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.
Handling and storage
Prevent contact with air/oxygen (formation of peroxide).
General Handling: Do not swallow. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep container closed. Use with adequate ventilation.
Protection against fire and explosion:
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Storage
Further information on storage conditions: Containers should be stored tightly sealed in a dry place.
Store in the following material(s): Carbon steel. Stainless steel. Phenolic lined steel drums.
Protect from temperatures below: 15 °C
Do not store in: Aluminum. Copper. Galvanized iron. Galvanized steel. See SDS Section 10 for more specific information.
The product crystallizes below the limit temperature.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Respiratory protection:
Respiratory protection in case of vapour/aerosol release. Particle filter with medium efficiency for
solid and liquid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P2 or FFP2)
Hand protection:
Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)
Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374): fluoroelastomer (FKM) - 0.7 mm coating thickness
Polyethylene-Laminate (PE laminate) - ca. 0.1 mm coating thickness
Suitable materials short-term contact and/or splashes (recommended: At least protective index 2, corresponding > 30 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374)
nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness
Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in
practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.
Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.

General safety and hygiene measures
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wearing of closed work
clothing is recommended.
Stability and reactivity
Strong acids. Strong bases. Strong oxidizers.
Conditions to Avoid: Do not distill to dryness. Product can oxidize at elevated temperatures.
Hazardous decomposition products:
No hazardous decomposition products if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.
Disposal considerations
Contaminated packaging:
Uncontaminated packaging can be re-used.
Packs that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of in the same manner as the contents.
