Additional information

A testing proposal regarding long-term toxicity to fish for the analogue substance bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA, CAS 103-23-1) was accepted by ECHA in a draft decision. The registrants intends to use results of the study according to OECD TG 210 with DEHA to fulfill the information requirements on long-term toxicity to fish for the registered substance (DINA, CAS 33703-08-1). In accordance with Article 13 (1) of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, "information on intrinsic properties of substances may be generated by means other than tests, provided that the conditions set out in Annex XI are met. In particular for human toxicity, environmental fate and ecotoxicity, information shall be generated whenever possible by means other than vertebrate animal tests, which includes the use of information from structurally related substances (grouping or read-across). Data from Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is already used in the dossier of diisononyl adiapte for several endpoints in order to fulfill the information requirements for diisononyl adipate. Bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate is considered a suitable read-across substance. A corresponding analogue justification is provided in chapter 13.2 of the dossier.
