Additional information

Based on the Key study results the estimated NOEC of Chlorella vulgaris for aluminium potassium bis sulphate is 133.3 mg/L.

In a supporting study by DeForest et al., experimental data on the toxicity of aluminium to a green alga (P. subcapitata) is summarized. Within these data, the EC10 (72 hours, Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) for Aluminum varies over a wide range (146 - 3154 µg Al/lcorresponding to ca. 1.4 -  30.5 mg/l aluminum potassium bis(sulphate)) depending on the water characteristics (pH, DOC, hardness). The actual aluminum compound used as test material was not specified.
