Description of key information

Based on data on each constituent, the reaction mass is considered as non explosive.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

No data is available on the reaction mass of chlorodifluoroacetic acid and trifluoroacetic acid. Data are available on each constituent:

For chlorodifluoroacetic acid, the substance showed negative results in experimental study, according to the EC A14 method.

For trifluoroacetic acid, based on the structure, it was considered as non explosive.

Based on these results, the reaction mass CDFA/TFA is considered as non explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Experimental data on chlorodifluoroacetic acid and waiving based on the structure for trifluoroacetic acid showed no explosive properties.

Based on these results, the reaction mass CDFA/TFA is considered as non explosive and is not classified according to the CLP 1272/2008 regulation and the directive 67/548/EC criteria.
