Additional information

The acute toxicity test was conducted with 4 -methyl-4 -phenylpentan-2 -ol according to OECD 203 guideline to determine the effects of the test item to rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus).

A 96 -hour semi-static test with media renewal after 48 hours was conducted with 5 concentrations of 10, 15, 22, 33 and 50 mg/L. A blank control group was conducted in parallel. Seven test organisms were exposed to the test concentration and control. Samples were taken for analysis from the freshly prepared solutions at 0 and 48 hours, and the old solutions at 48 and 96 hours. Concentrations of test item in the test media were measured by HPLC.

The measured concentrations were 94.9 -97.0% of nominal concentrations. The effects were based on analytically confirmed nominal concentrations. The 96- hour LC50 to rare minnow was 36.12 mg/L with 95 % confidence limits of 31.40 - 41.56 mg/L.
