According to column 2 of the table given in REACH Annex IX, the study on determination of the dissociation constant can get waived for substances which get hydrolysed easily with a half-life time below 12 hours. This is the case for target compound titanium oxychloride, which only occurs as hydrolysis product of parent compound titanium tetrachloride when hydrochloric acid is being added to the reaction. Under environmentally relevant pH conditions parent compound titanium tetrachloride hydrolyses immediately and completely to final products titanium dioxide and hydrochloric acid (see also respective endpoint entries in section "hydrolysis").
