Description of key information

Skin:
A primary skin irritation test was conducted with rabbits to determine the potential for ADTP to produce irritation after a single topical application. Under the conditions of this study, the test substance did not cause skin irritation.
Eye:
A primary eye irritation test was conducted with rabbits to determine the potential for ADTP to produce irritation from a single instillation via the ocular route. Under the conditions of this study, the test substance caused iritis and conjunctival irritation which cleared by 48 hours.

The key study for skin irritation was conducted in accordance with U.S. EPA Health Effects Test Guidelines, OPPTS 870.2500 (1998). The study was conducted in line with GLP. A reliability rating of 1 according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997.

The key study for eye irritation was conducted in accordance with U.S. EPA Health Effects Test Guidelines, OPPTS 870.2400 (1998). The study was conducted in line with GLP. A reliability rating of 1 according to the criteria of Klimisch, 1997.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Skin:

The results do not meet the the criteria set out in Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) or Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP) therefore classification for skin irritation is not required.

Eye:

The results do not meet the the criteria set out in Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) or Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP) therefore classification for eye irritation is not required.
