Description of key information

No experimental data is available for skin and respiratory sensitisation of Sodium-2-formylbenzenesulphonate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

No experimental data is available for skin sensitisation of Sodium-2-formylbenzenesulphonate. The aldehyde group is an alert for sensitisation. However, benzaldehyde is well known non sensitiser. The sulphonic group present in Sodium-2 -formylbenzenesulphonate generally lower the bioavailability and lower the general toxicity of the substance. Therefore Benzaldehyde is the worst case compared with Sodium-2-formylbenzenesulphonate and no classification for skin sensitisation is required.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

Sodium-2 -formylbenzenesulphonate is a solid with low vapour pressure.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No experimental data is available regarding skin/respiratory sensatisation for Sodium-2-formylbenzenesulphonate.
