Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Hydrolysis

The substance tends to hydrolyse relatively quickly at pH 7 and 25 °C with a half-life for the hydrolysis reaction of 86 hours. The hydrolysis is much slower at pH 4 and 25 °C (7516 hours) and pH 9 and 25 °C (3063 hours). The substance is more easily hydrolysed at elevated temperatures that are often applied in dyeing processes: the half-life for hydrolysis at 50 °C is 337 hours at pH 4, 2.5 hours at pH 7 and 94 hours at pH 9.

Phototransformation

The substance has a negligible vapour pressure and will not partition into the atmosphere. Phototransformation in air is not a relevant degradation pathway for FAT 40841/A TE. The phototransformation in water has not been studied. It may expected, though, that phototransformation of the substance in water may occur under environmental conditions as FAT 4084/A TE absorbs light in the wave length spectrum of sunlight.
