Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A sample of vanadium concentrate was analysed after drying at 105 °C under vacuum overnight (until constant weight). The analysis was conducted under nitrogen flux at 20 ml/min.
First run:
- Heating       from 20 °C to 400 °C at 10 °C/min
- Cooling       from 400 °C to 20 °C at 10 °C/min
The experiment shows that there aren't any transitions in the range from 20 °C to 400°C, so the melting point of the sample is >400 °C as expected by the literature data available for the components that constitute the substance examined.
This melting point study using the thermal analysis method is acceptable and satisfies the guideline to determine the melting point of a substance according to ASTM E537/07.
