Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The screening evaluation failed to evidence any reason for concern, on the basis of the thermal behaviour investigation.

In addition, a test was performed for the determination of the explosive properties in accordance with EEC-Directive A-14: "Explosive properties". The substance was exposed to thermal and mechanical stress. No positive reaction was observed during the performance of the test. From this it was concluded that the test item is not explosive under the conditions of the test.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, 2.1.4.2 Screening Procedure section, the screening procedure is aims to identifying the presence of such reactive groups and the potential for rapid energy release. If the screening procedure identifies the test item to be a potential explosive, the acceptance procedure (section 10.3 of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria) must be performed.

The screening procedure failed to evidence any reason for concern, on the basis that the enthalpy of decomposition of the test item was less than 500 J/g, in the temperature range of 265.82 -306.54 °C (onset = 269.07 °C), with a related energy of 323.11 J/g.

In conclusion, the test item does not meet the criteria to be classified as explosive, according to the CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
