Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No toxic effects to aquatic organisms have been observed.

Additional information

No acute toxicity tests for fish and invertebrates are available with cyclohexylidenebis[tert-amyl] peroxide. Therefore, these data are read-across from studies performed with cyclohexylidenebis[tert-butyl] peroxide. Under test conditions, no toxic effect has been observed at the maximum achievable solubility to fish and daphnia.

The acute toxicity to algae was tested with 1,1 -di(tert-amylperoxy)cyclohexane in isododecane and with the analogous substance, 1,1 -bis(tert-butylperoxy)cyclohexane. Under the test conditions, no significant inhibitory effect on the growth rate and on the yield of the algae has been observed at the maximum achievable solubility for both peroxides.

Finally, toxicological data to microorganisms has been read-across from cyclohexylidenebis[tert-butyl] peroxide. The 3-hour EC10 and EC50 were determined to be > 20 mg/L.
