Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The viscosity of the structural analogue substance 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, C16-20-alkyl ester was determined in a study according OECD TG 114. The kinematic viscosity of the test item was measured with a micro-Ubbelohde viscometer according to DIN 51 562 at 20°C and 40°C. Kinematic viscosity at 20°C was 11.7 mm²/s and the kinematic viscosity at 40°C was 6.60 mm²/s (Evonik RohMax Additives GmbH UNTER 08 -078). In two supporting guideline studies the viscosity of shorter-chained methacrylates (2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, isodecyl ester; 8-methylnonyl methacrylate and -Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, C12-16-alkyl ester) was determined to be 3.56 mm2/s and 6.24 mm2/s, respectively (Evonik RohMax Additives GmbH UNTER 08 -075, Evonik RohMax Additives GmbH UNTER 08 -081). All data are regarded as reliable. A viscosity of 11.7 mm2/s was assumed for the target substance Docosyl methacrylate.
