Experimental data on the transport and distribution of Iron (III) orthophosphate (CAS 10045-86-0) are not available. The substance is a solid under standard environmental conditions. The mobility under aerobic conditions and neutral pH in the environment is expected to be very low. The 28 d transformation/dissolution test according to the OECD guideline 29 determined a dissolution of maximum 21.062 µg/L iron ions from the substance after 7 d at a loading of 100 mg/L and pH 6. On this basis soil and sediment are the main compartments of relevance. Under anoxic conditions, iron (III) can however be reduced to the more mobile iron (II) species.
