Additional information

Iron (III) orthophosphate (CAS 10045-86-0) is an inorganic phosphate substance. It is a solid under environmental conditions and is poorly soluble in water. In water, soil and biological systems, minor amounts of the substance can hydrolyze to phosphorous and iron (III) species. The 28 d transformation/dissolution test according to the OECD guideline 29 determined a maximum dissolution of 21.062 µg/L iron ions from the substance after 7 d at a loading of 100 mg/L and pH 6. As elements iron and phosphorus are persistent in the environment. Under anoxic conditions, iron (III) can be reduced to the more mobile iron (II) species.
